Firstly, A big welcome back to all, for what we hope to be another great academic year!
We would like to start off this years newsletter with a note about our new and improved PDBA Handbook. The link for which can be found below. Please take the time to read through this handbook as it includes key information about all the departments here in Student Life and the important work that is going on this year.
The Handbook includes details on important departmental work going on across the student life team, this includes:
- Restorative Practice – If you are interested in booking a training session please book via the following online form: https://goo.gl/forms/7uKHI09y6WLEH2F83
- Student Enrichment
- Student Financial Support
- Careers, Work Experience and Progression
- Parents and Carers Partnership
- Children Looked After
- Safeguarding and Mental Health
The Student Life Teams are located in Student life hubs at every main campus, with staff who are experts in their specialist areas.
Most importantly for the past two weeks, is the focus on Student Induction! During these first 2 weeks of term, students have been taking part in induction activities. Activities have ranged from team building and campus challenges to life skills and employability.
Induction culminated with The Big Welcome which was held at the Printworks Campus on Thursday 12 September and welcomed all students from across all campuses. Students were encouraged to interact with internal and external stalls, including our fabulous Student Life Enrichment Team, before enjoying the funfair, live music and food.
Well done and thank you to all staff and students involved, in once again, making this a fantastic event to kickstart the academic year!
